Another great boys night this past Friday. We went to see "Ted" at the AMC in Burbank and it was great seeing Al Zegler and Lorenzo Martinez, two of my old friends and fellow artists from Warner Animation. Nick Dubois gets the Good Samaritan award this week for taking Al into his home and looking after him in the face of his present disability. A real friend! I hit Barney's Beanery earlier for lunch and some sketching! Ted was funny as I expected!

BNO( boys nite out) is always fun. We saw two great films tonight. Pixar's BRAVE was awesome! Another hit I'd guess and ABRAHAM LINCOLN VAMPIRE SLAYER was the second and I LOVED it! There's the posse gathered at Panera Bread across from the AMC and above is my old friend, Oscar Perez, who I haven't seen in about 10 years!

Our kids are the best! If any of you newly marrieds are thinking of having kids, I'd highly recommend it. They are God's great gift to us. If you're willing to raise then properly they'll surprise you one day. My daughter's made these nice cards for me on Father's Day that I have hanging in my studio. So precious! My wife made this delicious meal ( which she always does) and they all got me gifts. Later I took a stroll around the Simi Town Center. Great day!

While I miss my buds on Friday nights ( when I can't hang with them) I always manage to find something to do and somewhere to go. Started out tonight at the newly opened Hooters in Thousand Oaks and had dinner. I drew a picture of Brooke and gave it to her. She loved it. Then I went to Muvico and saw Prometheus again and got these great photos of the figurines in the lobby. The night ended at my favorite bar in T.O...the Sunset Terrace where I finished off my Bar sketchbook. Happy Friday!

I'm teaching a Character design course at Otis College of Art and Design for the next ten weeks and this is one of the exercises I'm giving in the class.....Cartooning animals! So much fun!
